Joyce Hardman Bird

Tega Cay - Joyce Bird, 84, wife of the late Donald Bird, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Joyce, affectionately known as 'Gram', was born in 1930 to the late John and Sarah Hellewell. Joyce was a member of the Philadelphia United Methodist Church in Fort Mill, SC . Anyone that came in contact with Joyce, naturally fell in love with her smile. Survived by her 3 children: son Phil Bird of Surfside, SC, daughter Pauline Bird Simon of Fort Mill, SC, and son Kenneth Bird of Tega Cay, SC; 7 grandchildren Joe and Ryan McFarland, Shannon LaBella, Alison, Jason, Sarah and Ian Bird; 10 great-grandchildren and sister Rita Bobko of Blufton, SC; nephew David Bobko and niece Denise Spada-Vargo. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Palmetto Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Cooley officiating. The family wishes to express a special 'Thank You' to Agape Hospice for their support.
