Joyce Buford Clinton, 86, of 727 Ragin Lane, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Park Pointe Village. A native of Ellington, SC, Mrs. Clinton was born October 20, 1922 a daughter of the late William Hal Buford, Sr. and the late Lila Irene Buford Buford. She taught first grade at Oakland Elementary School for 29 years and Ft. Mill Elementary School for one year and was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Mrs. Clinton was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur Nolan "Bill" Clinton and two brothers Roy Buford and William Hal Buford, Jr. Surviving are her daughter Brenda Clinton Dunlap of Rock Hill, a son William Hal Clinton of Maryland; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00pm Saturday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Clinton will be held Sunday at 3:00pm at St. John's United Methodist church with Reverend Ken Owens and Reverend Sandra King officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Browning Sykes Sunday School Class.
