Joyce Madeline (Schwing) Stevens

Joyce Madeline Stevens, 84, of Rock Hill, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Born Sunday, April 14, 1940, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Grantland Schwing, Sr. and Janet Pearson Schwing. As a young adult, Joyce enjoyed riding her horse, "Big Man". She loved to travel to the beach and the mountains, going to auctions and yard sales and spending time with her family and friends. Any one who was privileged enough to eat her cooking will tell you, "She was a REAL GOOD cook".

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Joyce Ann Baker and her husband, Emmett Nathaniel "Nat" Baker; daughter-in-law, Deborah Groves; step-son, Jason Stevens and his wife, Krissy; brother, Arthur "Buck" Schwing, Jr.; sister, Barbara Harrelson; grandchildren: Amber Renee Baker and her partner, William, Megan Wright and her husband, Coley, Brittney Groves and her husband, Donnie Harris, Alexis Helms and Jase Buddy Stevens; great grandchildren: Chandler Mitch Dover, Carter Nathaniel Dover, William "Liam" Cruz Schavonie, Bristol Harris, Camden Harris and Mya Groves; nieces: Erika Latham and Lisa McGowan; nephew, Arthur, III; and great nephews and niece: Graham Bebow, Jake Latham, Christopher Payne and Amanda McGowan; and many more loving family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her sons, Randolph "Randy" Scott Groves and Kenneth "Kenny" Groves; brother, James "Jimmy" Schwing; and sister, Pat Green.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 19, 2024, in the Chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill, SC, with Rev. Jamie Burdette officiating.
