Joyce Ann Williams

Joyce Sweatt Williams, 76, of Fort Mill, SC, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 17, 2023. She passed away peacefully on Monday evening surrounded by her family.

Joyce was born September 12, 1946 in Rock Hill, SC to the late S. O. Sweatt and the late Catherine Milner Sweatt.

Joyce was a lifelong resident of Fort Mill and a member of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church. She had many different jobs over her lifetime, but spent many years as the warehouse manager of Gutermann of America before her retirement. She was a lifelong crafter and enjoyed many different forms of crafts and handiwork such as ceramics, painting, cross-stitching, crocheting, and quilting. She was a wonderful cook, a skill she learned from her mother, passed along to her daughter and shared with her family. Most of all Joyce loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Williams III; her sister Dollie Sweatt Carpenter; her brother William Thomas Sweatt

Joyce is survived by her son, Charles Keith Williams (Pam); her daughter, Sherry Williams Foxx (Billy);  her granddaughters, Michelle Williams Burgess and Lauren Ashley McCoig (Adam); her great-granddaughters Miah Rachelle Burgess and Everly Fae McCoig; her great-grandson Samuel Dean McCoig.

The family will receive friends from 6-7pm Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29708.  The burial will be on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 4pm a private  graveside ceremony for the family.
