Juanita Alice Mcafee Thompson

York, SC – Juanita Alice McAfee Thompson passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center.

Mrs. Thompson chose in lieu of a funeral and visitation to have a Celebration of Life picnic that will be scheduled in the coming weeks. The family will receive family and friends at the home of Bonnie Whetstine as time allows.

Born in Thomasville, GA, Mrs. Thompson was a daughter of the late John A. McAfee and Lavonia Watford McAfee.   Mrs. Thompson had an enormous love for the outdoors and everything that came with it, mostly fishing.  Mrs. Thompson worked in food services for York School District.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Thompson Whetstine; her son, Charles Franklin (Frank) Thompson, Jr; her sister, Barbara Sue Sutherland; five grandchildren, Zachary and Caroline Whetstine, Kaitlin Grace Sainz-Rodreguis, Kimberly Dover and Brittany Thompson; and 7 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles Franklin (Chockie) Thompson, Sr.
