We are sad to announce the passing of June Masek, 78, who left us to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. June loved profusely, cherished her family and friends and had a huge heart. When she entered the room, she lit it up with her presence and zest for life.
Anyone who was blessed to know June was immediately taken in by her robust, enthusiastic, and positive attitude and true faith in the Lord. June could always be found talking about her love for her grandchildren, playing bingo with her friends, going out to dinner and spending time with friends and family. Wherever life took her she was up for it.
June was born in Cleveland, OH on July 8, 1943, and during her 78 years (almost 79) she spent her life in varying places: Maryland, Florida, North Carolina, Mississippi and most recently South Carolina, making friends as she went. June was the daughter of the late Joseph Szitas and Margaret Vigas Szitas. She was a member of the Philadelphia United Methodist Church and worked there for many years, caring for the children in the nursery. You could find her there on almost every Sunday, rain or shine. These children meant the world to her.
June is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Chuck) Bobst of Canal Winchester, OH and her two sons, Brett (Pam) of Fort Mill, SC and Scott (Jackie) of Pittsburg, PA; and her five grandchildren, Logan, Jordan, Brice, Charli Jo, and Caden.
The Celebration of Her Life will be Friday, July 1st @ 2pm at Palmetto Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29708.
