Justin Matthew Duffey

April 25, 1997 — January 4, 2022

Fort Mill

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

Our beloved son, Justin Matthew Duffey, 24, was welcomed home by the loving arms of Jesus on January 4, 2022.  Justin was born on April 25, 1997 in Charlotte, NC.  He graduated from Fort Mill High School in 2015 and was currently living in Fort Mill, SC.

Justin loved to spend time with his family, friends, and his dog Effy.  He had a passion for music and enjoyed singing along to his favorite artists Alanis Morissette and Amy Winehouse .  He loved the mountains, traveling and taking pictures of nature.  He had a contagious smile that brightened up any room and he made everyone feel included, wanted and accepted.  He had a beautiful gift of genuinely connecting with others.  Justin loved Jesus and was the happiest when he was sharing God’s love with the people of Haiti and Mexico on mission trips.  His beautiful soul full of love, kindness, unconditional acceptance of others, forgiveness, empathy, patience, and generosity touched every person he encountered and made this world a brighter place.

Justin was an amazing big brother to his three younger siblings, Joshua Duffey, 23, Jake Duffey, 19, and Jaden Duffey, 14. He is also survived by his parents Joel and Jeanette Duffey of Saint Johns, Florida.  He was a beautiful grandson to Jim and Gigi Boyette of Fort Mill, SC and Norma and Paul Duffey (Dec.) of Waxhaw, NC.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Justin’s memory to missionofhope.com and/or thetrevorproject.org.

An open celebration of Justin’s life will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 2:00PM at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place, Fort Mill, SC.

Justin shared on December 6, 2021, “Did I offer peace today?  Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions.  I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come.”  Your love has bared many fruit, my sweet Justin.
