Born in Shahpura, Rajasthan, India, Kamla Devi was the eldest of the seven children of Late Shrimati Bhavri Bai and Late Shri Basanti Lal Mathur.
Born late after marriage she was the miracle child who was dearly loved by family. She was mischievous, chatty, witty, and the life of family gatherings. She reminisced with joy the life of royalty she lived in the Kingdom of Shahpura. She married Late Shri Jagdish Shanker Mathur in 1955 and together they lived a wonderful, peaceful, joyous, and loving life in multiple cities in Bihar, Jharkand, Bengal, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and the United States.
She was fortunate to be the disciple of His Holiness Bhakti Vikasa Swami (ACBSP), who initiated her in the Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya as Mahasundari Kamla Devi Dasi.
Always engaged in some creative project, she loved making dolls and jewelery, sewing dresses and sweaters, and crocheting items. But what gave her the most joy was bhakti, charity, and helping people.
She is remembered as a pious, generous, and affectionate soul, survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who call her Super Dadi and Super Nani .
