Karen Ann Howland

Karen Ann Chandler Howland, 65, of Fort Mill, SC passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 in Rock Hill, SC after an extended illness. Born January 27, 1949 in Waverly, NY, Mrs. Howland was the daughter of Betty Willson Chandler and the late Lester L. Chandler, Sr. She had been employed 14 years as a nurses aid at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA before moving to Charlotte, NC. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Gail Chandler; 2 brothers, Kevin J. Chandler, Sr. and Lester L. (Roy) Chandler, Jr. Mrs. Howland is survived by her husband, Harold J. Howland; her sons, Christopher Howland (Dana) and Bryan T. Howland of Fort Mill, SC; 2 grandchildren, Joshua and Kayla Howland; her mother, Betty Imlay of Rock Hill, SC; 3 sisters, Donna Sorensen of Waverly, NY, Connie Mann of Lancaster, SC, and Kathy Welch of Deltona, FL; a brother, Timothy A. Chandler of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Howland will be held 1pm Friday, February 28, 2014 in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home.
