Fort Mill, SC Mrs. Karen Denise Godfrey Lawson age 56 passed away December 23rd 2011 at Agape Hospice in Rock Hill. She was the daughter of Marvin Godfrey and Sarah T. Godfrey. Karen graduated from Fort Mill High School and Attended the Fort Mill Church of God and had worked for Black-n-Decker and Disney Store at Carolina Place Mall in Pineville. Mrs. Lawson is survived by her husband of 28 years; Bobby J. Lawson, her parents Marvin and Carolyn Godfrey; one brother Steve Godfrey and wife Debbie all of Fort Mill; nieces and nephews Jordan Godfrey, Grason Godfrey of Fort Mill; Leslie Silvers and husband Jody of Charlotte, NC; Holly Whitby and husband James of Nashville, TN; Wil and Matthew Silvers and Parker and A.J. Whitby, also one uncle Ted E. Thompson and wife Joann of Charlotte, and aunt June T. Hammond of Rock Hill, SC. Funeral Service to Celebrate Karen's Life will be held 6 PM Thursday, December 29th 2011 at Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Lang and Mr. Harold McClaren officiating. The Family will receive friends from 5-6 prior to service at funeral Home. The Family of Mrs. Lawson request that memorials be sent to Agape Hospice, 1317 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 or the Humane Society of York Co, 2036 Carolina Place, Fort Mill SC 29715.
