Ms. Katharine "Katie" Kent age 44, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015. Born in Elmira to the late Don Kent and Louise Kent of Fort Mill, SC. Ms. Kent has worked as a customer service representative in Charlotte, NC after moving from Pittsburgh, PA in 1997. She loved listening to music and spending time with her nephews and friends.
She is also predeceased by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Henri Richard and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Kent; her Uncle Joseph C. "Pete" Richard, Aunt M. Leonie Derito and cousin Kaydon J. Kent. Katie is survived by her mother, sister Liz Estes (Trey) and nephews Will and Ryan all of Fort Mill, SC; aunts and uncles Marie Ann Norton (Joe), Cathy McLaughlin (Dan), Bill and Dotty Kent, Henri Richard (Ann), Bob Kent, Jack and Betsy Kent, Mary Ann LaMont (Craig), Patricia Kent, Michael Kent, Kathy Ouweleen (Doug) and several loving cousins and friends.
The family is receiving friends Thursday May 21 from 6 to 8 pm at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC. A memorial service will be held Friday May 22 at 11 am at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill, SC.
Memorials may be sent to local SPCA or a charity of one's choice.
