Kathleen Elvina Donahue

Kathleen (Hoot) Donahue, née Shoemaker, age 68, passed away suddenly on July 12, 2019 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. She was born July 5, 1951, in Paterson, NJ, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Elvina (Radaelli) Shoemaker, and moved to Spring Hill, Florida, in 1993.

Kathy was a Registered Nurse for 34 years and for the last 18 years a nurse in the ICU at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey, Florida. She was recently awarded Nurse of the Year by the Board of Directors of the Good Samaritan's Health Clinic, Inc. for North Bay Hospital.

Besides being a compassionate, caring and professional nurse, Hoot was also a devoted, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed!

Survivors include her husband Shawn Joseph Donahue of the home; two sons Robert Van Houten, Jr of Florida; Kenneth Van Houten and wife Lynn of Raleigh, NC; one sister Paulette Iadanza of Tega Cay, SC; and four grandchildren: Hailey, Kenneth, Jr., Landon and Levi Van Houten.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 10th at 11:00am, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, at 5030 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill, Florida.
