Kathleen H. Porter

Kathleen Hawkins Porter, 89, of Rock Hill, SC passed away Monday, December 30, 2013. Born in Rock Hill, SC, Mrs. Porter was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Hawkins. She was a member of Second Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett C. Porter; and her son, Johnny Gettys. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Morgan; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and a daughter-in-law, Frieda Porter Gantt. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Porter will be held 2pm Thursday, January 2, 2014 in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Thursday from 1:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Second Baptist Church, 1218 Mount Holly Rd. Rock Hill, SC 29730.
