Kekoa Mitsuo Terukina

Kekoa Mitsuo Terukina, 10, of Fort Mill, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 4, 2009 in Wilmington, NC.

Kekoa loved school and was currently a 4th grader at Pleasant Knoll Elementary School. He enjoyed basketball, Cub Scouts, helping others and was an avid dog lover.

He is survived by his parents, Kawika and Savon Yann Terukina; his twin brother, Keoni Terukina; paternal grandparents, Robert and Diana Terukina; maternal grandparents, Sovann Yann and Lay Uong; paternal aunts and uncles, Kekoa Terukina (Hideko), Leialoha Lilly (Chad), Kolokea Stapley (Dave) and Haaheo Terukina (Ryan); maternal aunts and uncles, Johnny Yann (Anh Nguyen), Diana Yann (Bruce Tan), Savett Yann (John Bunmann), Simmon Yann, Anderson Yann, Mala Yann (Sander Tan), Mark Yann (Helen) and Veasna Yann; many cousins; and his beloved dogs, Kuma and Kaipo.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kekoa's memory to the Connor Crazies, a non-profit organization that supports awareness and family support for HLH (hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis) at www.connorcrazies.org.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciate to the Connor Crazies, Levine Children's Hospital and the numerous family and friends for the compassionate, loving and supportive care. May God bless each of you.
