Kenneth L. Flowe, 74, passed away, at home, with his family and friends by his side, on Sunday, September 13, 2015.

A native of Charlotte, Ken was born on September 27, 1940 to Harold and Louise Flowe. Ken graduated from Central High School and Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

Ken served as a proud member of the Charlotte Fire Department and retired as a Battalion Chief. He also taught in the Fire Science Program at Central Piedmont Community College. He and his wife, Dianne, enjoyed their antique business for many years after his retirement. An avid golfer , Ken looked forward to his Saturday mornings at Larkhaven Golf Course with friends, many since childhood.

In addition to his wife, Dianne , Ken is survived by his children, Andy Flowe, Elaine Flowe, Christy Mathews, and granddaughter, Alexis Helms, a niece and nephews, and brother-in-law, Lewis Van Leuven. Ken was predeceased by his parents, daughter, Keena, and brothers, Milton Flowe and Butch Flowe.

The family would like to thank Hospice and Community Care of Rock Hill SC for their loving care in his difficult last days. We would also like to thank special friends, Bridgette and Dean, who provided support for the family during his illness.

To honor Ken's wishes, we would like to invite friends and family to join us for a celebration of his life on Ken's birthday, Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the family home in Indian Land, SC. This will be a drop-in from 2 PM to 4 PM.
