Mr. Kenneth Hammaker, 84, passed away at his home Saturday, March 2, 2013. Mr. Hammaker was born December 8, 1928, in Westerly, West Virginia; a son of the late Thomas O. and Susie Hammaker. He served for four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. Mr. Hammaker retired from Roanoke Linen Service after 31 years as a routeman and supervisor. After Retirement, he worked 10 years for Graham White Industries and was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Mill. Preceding him in death was his son, Thomas K. Hammaker; grandson, Derek N. Hammaker; sister, Shirley White and brother, Kedrick Hammaker. Mr. Hammaker is survived by his wife, Ann Hammaker of Fort Mill; daughter, Sharon Pike and husband, Gary of Raleigh, NC; son, David Hammaker and wife, Linda of Fort Mill; granddaughter, Shannon N. Hammaker; brother, Jerry Hammaker. Funeral Service will be held 4:00 pm, Monday, March 4, 2013 at Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Jeff Bedwell, Ralph Riley, and Benny Wade officiating. Graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, VA with Rev. Tom McCracken officiating with visitation 1 hr prior to the service at the Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2-4 Sunday Afternoon March 3, 2013 at Palmetto Funeral Home.
