Kenneth "Ken" Lamar Tyner

Kenneth "Ken" Lamar Tyner of Fort Mill, SC passed away Tuesday, August 9th, at Wayne T Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC. He was born in Greenville, SC, son of George and Myrtle Tyner. Ken owned Tyner Insurance Agency in Fort Mill. He was of the Baptist faith and a United States Marine Veteran, serving in Vietnam and Korea wars. He was a member of the Indian Land Masonic Lodge #414 where he was past master, a member of American Legion and VFW in Fort Mill, a former member Catawba Lodge #56, past district deputy, a member of York & Scottish Rites, Hejaz Shriner, loved to play golf, loved doing woodworking and crafts shows and spending time with his family.
Ken is survived by his wife, Patricia, his daughter Cara Tyner Kendall (Jimmy) of York, SC, two brothers; Doug Tyner of Greenville, SC and Dan Tyner of Rutherfordton, NC, one sister; Yvonne Carter of Piedmont, SC, four grandchildren; Dale Tyner (Kristi), Jessica Wright, Tiffany Philbeck (Jordan), and Joshua Johnson and nine great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held 3 pm, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC with Barry Yates officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 pm until service starts. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Rd, Rock Hill, SC with military honors from United States Marine Corp, American Legion Post #43 Fort Mill and Masonic Rites Indian Land Lodge #414.
