Kitty Gordon Darby

Mrs. Kitty Gordon Darby, 85, of 2049 McConnells Hwy. passed away at home on November 7, 2008, . Born a daughter in York County to the late Sumter and Mona Montgomery Gordon, Mrs. Darby and her late husband James, Co-Founded the James Darby Well Drilling Company. Mrs. Darby was a homemaker and member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church. She is survived by daughters Brenda Darby Harris of Durham, NC, Jackie Darby Thompson of Columbia, SC and son James Darby Jr. of Rock Hill. 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Mills Gordon of Brattonsville, and James Gordon of York. A Celebration of Life Service will take place Monday 11:00AM at Bethesda Presbyterian Church , conducted by Reverend Daniel Smoak, and Reverend James Gable, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00-7:00PM at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bethesda Presbyterian Church Child Development Center 4858 McConnells Highway, York, SC 29745, or charity of ones choice.
