Lawrence "Larry" Wilson Cook

January 20, 1941 — August 12, 2015

Lawrence "Larry" Wilson Cook, 74, of Black Mountain, NC passed away at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC surrounded by his family on August 12, 2015. He will be remembered for his strong faith, love of family, sense of humor, and tall tales. Born in Celina, Tennessee, he was the son of Inus Cook and the late Grady Cook. In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kiersten and Ralph Cummings of Fort Mill, SC; his granddaughters, Rebecca and Caitlin, both of Fort Mill, SC and grandson, Camden, of Clarksville, TN; his adored dog, Emma, and many close friends. Larry was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Carolina. He served in the United States Army for two years, one of which was in Germany. Larry loved finance, law, and psychology. He graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in accounting subsequently establishing his own accounting firm, L. Wilson Cook & Associates in Ft. Myers, FL. In future years, he was involved in developing and building homes. Larry was an avid reader and lover of all types of music. He devoted much of his time to mentoring others, collecting antiques, and renovating houses. A private service was held on Saturday, August 15th in North Carolina.
