Lawrence Gail (Larry) Hyman

October 1, 1940 — January 13, 2014

Lawrence Gail Hyman (Larry), 73, passed away at home on January 13, 2014, after a 4 year battle with cancer. Lawrence was a graduate of Florence High School and UNC-Charlotte. He served in the US Air Force where he received training in Computer Science. After his discharge, he worked as a manager of computer operations for several companies before he started his own business. He owned J&L Coffee Service until his retirement. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents Luther and Theodosia (Eaddy) Hyman and his brothers Wayne Hyman and Bobby Hyman. He is survived by his sister Edaphell Gibbs, his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Keith Stephens, his grand children Paula with husband Carson Neely and Lisa with husband Vince Hyams, great grand children Tripp and JuneElla. He is also survived by his loving nieces, Cheryl Galloway, Cecilia Burbage, and Kathy Ford as well as god-son Jonathan Logan and Jonathan's parents Cheryl and Tim Logan. His family would like to thank (and adopt) Carol Blackwelder for her love and dedication to his care over the past 2 years. Visitation will be from 6-8PM Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC. Services will be at 1:00PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel in Florence, SC with a visitation from 12:00-1:00PM before the service.
