Leaborne Lee Whitesell

Rock Hill – Mrs. Leaborne Lee Whitesell, 88, of 642 Mallory Drive, died Sunday, April 1, 2018, at her home.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rock Hill Ward. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.

A native of Waycross, GA, Mrs. Whitesell was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Lee and Constance Royal Lee and she was the oldest of five children. Leaborne met and married Arthur Whitesell, Jr. and moved to Rock Hill. With three children and expecting her fourth, Leaborne enrolled in Winthrop College and with her fifth child graduated with a Master Degree in Education. She retired after teaching Government at Rock Hill High School for over 28 years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rock Hill Ward where she held many callings of responsibilities. She was as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Surviving are three sons, Art Whitesell (Diane), Steven Whitesell and David Whitesell (Stephanie); two daughters, Jeanie Thompson (Ron) and Julie Anderson (Scott); a brother, Jerry D. Lee; two sisters, Andree Sherman and Lucretia Kinnard (Louis); 19 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C Whitesell, Jr.; two grandchildren, Susan Thompson and Karson Whitesell; and a brother, Jack Lee.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at The Church of Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rock Hill Ward.
