Kershaw - Mrs. Lee Hunter McCorkle, 82, of 1238 Threatt Road, died Saturday, September 17, 2016, at the home of her daughter.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Catawba Ward. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of Monroe, NC Mrs. McCorkle was a daughter of the late Julius Redford Hunter and Lillian Mae Gordon Hunter. She was also the widow of the late Ronnie McCorkle.
Surviving are one son, Huey Canty (Rhonda); four daughters, Kathy Woody (Donald), Cindy Edward (Danny), Jane McDaniel (Steve) and Anita Hinson (Jeff); one brother, Paul Hunter (Edith); one sister, Helen Walsh (Joe); 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Neal Canty; one granddaughter, Adrene Henderson; five brothers, Johnny Hunter, Horace Hunter, Clyde Hunter, Bill Hunter, and Julius Hunter; two sisters, Hazel Walsh and Dorothy Gainey.
The family wants to give a special thanks to Amy Henderson and Jeff Key for the great care they provided as her caregivers.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday at Whitesell Funeral Home.
