Lee Scott Veazey, born in 1969 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on January 22nd,leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and cherished memories. A proud graduate of Hopkinsville High School, Class of 1988, Lee served his country with distinction as a combat medic in Operation Desert Storm.
Lee's life was a tapestry of passions and interests. He was an unwavering supporter of the University of Kentucky athletics, always ready to cheer on his Wildcats. His collection of fine bourbon was a source of pride, reflecting his appreciation for quality and craftsmanship. In his later years, Lee found joy in playing pool in leagues, where he formed many close friendships. His love for Ferrell's burgers was legendary, and he was known for his impressive knowledge of trivia, often sharing fascinating facts with friends.
Residing in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Lee was an esteemed colleague at Plaza Appliance Mart. He embraced the wisdom of Frank Zappa: "Information is not knowledge. Wisdom is not truth. Truth is not beauty. Beauty is not love. Love is not music. Music is the Best." This quote guided his life, inspiring him to seek deeper meaning and connection.
Lee is survived by his son, Tyler, and grandson, Malcolm. He also leaves behind his mother, Pat Sunderland, and her husband, Steven; his father, Dan Veazey, and his wife, Carole; his brother, Grant; his step-sister, Stacey; his former wife Heather, and a large, loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Lee's warmth, dedication, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will be cherished by those who loved him.
