Rock Hill - Mr. Leonard "Len" Junior Boatman, Jr., 89, formerly of Hudson, MA and Dollar Bay, MI, passed quietly into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Park Point Village Retirement Community.
Memorial services will be 3 P.M. Friday at Park Point Village Community Room with Chaplin Randy Wright and Pastor Jeff Lengel officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
A native of Osceola Township, MI. Mr. Boatman was a son of the late Leonard Boatman, Sr. and Ellen Nye Boatman. He was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Rock Hill. Leonard was a military Veteran serving two tours of duty with the United States Air Force and many years with the Army Reserves. He also served as an aircraft electrical technician as a civilian for the military at Fort Devin in MA. Len enjoyed his family and friends, gardening, feeding the birds, camping and woodworking. He was also a special treasure at Park Point to all that received his massages. Len also spent some of his early years working at UNIVAC Corporation working on the very first computer system.
Surviving are his wife, Dot Boatman of 61 years; a son, Darrell Boatman (Lisa) of Pittsfield, MA; a daughter, Becky Smith (Phil) of Rock Hill, SC; along with five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Boatman.
