Lisa Transou Allgood, age 66, went home to be with the Lord on August 26, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Lisa was born in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Virgil and Evie Transou.
Lisa earned her Diploma degree in Nursing from Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. She married her best friend and the love of her life, Wayne Allgood, and moved to Charlotte, NC where she raised their two daughters, Sallie and Amanda. Lisa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and was loved by all. She spent her career as a pediatric nurse where her love of children showed in her compassionate care. She worked for forty years at Charlotte Pediatric Clinic and was known as "Mama Lisa" to her co-workers. She had a contagious laugh and brought joy to everyone who knew her, welcoming family, friends, and even strangers into her home with open arms. Her caring spirit extended to her many pets and even plants thrived with her attention. She was creative, artistic, fun-loving, and full of life and love. She will be greatly missed, but we look forward to the day when we will be with her again.
Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Wayne, her daughters Sallie (Jonathan) and Amanda (Andy), and her grandchildren Molly and Lenore. Other survivors include her brother Tony (Nancy), her mother-in-law Betty (Bill), her many other relatives, and a countless number of friends.
A service will be held at the Zoar Campus of Good Shepherd Church at 13611 Zoar Road, Charlotte, NC on Thursday, August 30 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will follow the service.
