Evangelist Lizzie Mae McCoy, of 994 Magnolia Drive, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 at Piedmont Medical Center. A native of York County, Evangelist Lizzie McCoy was born a daughter of the late Sam A and Arlethea Miller Robinson. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy (Temple of Praise) where she was assistant pastor, and was retired from the school system. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Willie P. McCoy; two sisters Lillie B. Belton and Josephine McAlister; and one brother Alonzo Robinson. Surviving are her husband Rev. Willie L. McCoy; two daughters Shirley Edwards (Emmett) of Rock Hill and Ernestine Long (Bishop Alfred) of Richburg, SC; three sons Pastor Joe L. McCoy (Belle), Elbert and Sammie McCoy all of Rock Hill; four brothers Walter Robinson of Washington, D.C., David Robinson (Vera) of Charlotte, Curtis Robinson (Doris) of Rock Hill and James Robinson of Ft. Mill (Dora); two sisters Sarah Johnson (James C.), and Virginia Everett (Ejar); two daughters-in-law Teresa McCoy and Doris McCoy;a host grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; cousins; and other family and friends. A service to celebrate the life of Evangelist Lizzie McCoy will be held Friday at 1:00pm at Harvest Ministries with Bishop Alfred Long officiating and Rev. Larry Robinson assisting. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park on S. Cherry Road.
