Lois Elaine Savage Martin

Catawba - Mrs. Lois Elaine Savage Martin, 80, died Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Philadelphia United Methodist Church with Rev. Becky Shirley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at the church.

Mrs. Martin was a member of First Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the Joy Choir prior to her extended illness. She took pride in her ability to reach out to local organizations to secure donations for church fundraisers. She also enjoyed staying in touch with friends, baking and creating beautiful flower arrangements.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Clifford Otto Martin; a daughter, Connie; a son, Randy; a brother, Emmis Pratt, a sister, Charlotte Ziegler; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Effie Savage Pratt; her father, Theodore Savage; a step-father, Ausley Pratt; a daughter, Cathy Martin High; and a brother, Laymon Savage.
