Lois Sanders Thompson , 85, of Rock Hill, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Rock Hill Post-Acute Care surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 21, 1933 in Rock Hill, daughter of the late Albert Henderson Sanders, Sr. and Vera Blue Sanders.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Bobby Gene Thompson, Sr.; sons, Bobby Gene Thompson, Jr. and Scotty Thompson, Sr.; and sisters, Marie Simmers, Ada Sanders and Brenda Sanders.
Most important to her was her family and she was always there for them, regardless of circumstances. She was a member of Rock Hill First Church of the Nazarene for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy T. Canty and husband, Wallace of Rock Hill and Patricia T. Merritt and husband, James of Lancaster; brother, Clyde Thompson of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Lee Canty, Travis Canty (Sarah), Adrienne MacLeod (John), Matthew Merritt, Jesse Merritt, Jessica Thompson, Stephanie Thompson, LaTasha Thompson, Scotty Thompson, Jr., and Rose Thompson; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Leona Watts of Rock Hill, Laura Varnadore of Rock Hill, Ann Morris and husband, Laverne of Rock Hill, Marilyn Sanders of Rock Hill, Juanita Campbell of Rock Hill; brothers, Albert H. Sanders, Jr. of Greenville and Randall Sanders of Rock Hill; and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, June 3, 2019 at Grandview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to cover funeral expenses.
