Lola Katherine Laing

Lola Katherine Laing, 93, of Waxhaw, NC, formerly of West Falls, NY; Winter Haven, FL; Haines City, FL; and Fuquay-Varina, NC went to be with our Lord on May 19, 2013. Born in Hamburg, NY on January 4, 1920 to Albert and Emma Sauer, Lola was the youngest of six children. She was married to Orvis K. Laing, Sr. on July 20, 1939. Though Lola was small in stature, she had a large passion for life and living. Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her adoring husband, Orvis, of 65 years and a precious granddaughter Jennifer Mary, Lola leaves a loving legacy: sons Larry (Gretel) of West Falls, NY; and Orvis "Bud" (Marge) of Springville, NY; daughters Linda (John) of Lake Wylie, SC; and Sandi (Glen) of Waxhaw, NC; ten grandchildren, Debra, Pamela, Gretchen, Lisa, Todd, Rachel, Amy, Brian, Alexandra and Michael; sixteen great-grandchildren, Kaity, Joshua, Jessica, Brittany, Tiffany, Ramsey, Dylan, Dana, Nicholas, Levi, Noah, Ivan, Isabel, Abigail, Aiden and Kylie; and six great-great-grandchildren; Gavin, Gabriella, Mason, Malaki, Ava Marie and Cameron. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, May 25, 2013 at All Saints Catholic Church in Lake Wylie, SC with Father Ed McDevitt, Celebrant.
