Lonnie Bruce Franks

Lonnie Bruce Franks, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 19, 2014. Born on January 7, 1945 in Norton, VA, he relocated over 30 years ago to Charlotte, NC. Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Wiley Bruce Franks and his mother, Sarah Loy Franks of Norton, VA, and his brother, John Loy Franks of Charlotte, NC. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Sylvia Starnes Franks and their two children, Nikolas Brandon Franks and wife, Lindsay Elizabeth Franks of Fort Mill, SC and Jordan Christopher Franks of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving, is his first grandson, Pierce Nikolas Franks, lovingly known as "monkey" of whom he was the most proud. In addition, he is survived by 3 loving sisters, Nina Smith of Annapolis, MD, Judy Miller of Charlottesville, VA and Barbara Colerider of Mt. Pleasant, NC. Lonnie will be remembered for his charming personality and incredible wit. He never met a stranger, always had a smile on his face and had a way with words that would make anyone smile. It was those qualities that led to the success of his sales career, from which he was retired. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm at The Well Church located at 220 Main Street Pineville, NC. The family will receive guests immediately after the service.
