Loren B. Smith

Loren B. Smith, 75, of Tega Cay, SC, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2019, after a long illness. Loren was born in Malone, NY to Robert and Grace Smith, who both have predeceased him, but grew up in Sag Harbor, NY. He was a graduate of Pierson High School and received his BA from Fordham University where he met his to be wife, Linda. He joined the US Army in 1964, where he served in Vietnam and later received an Honorable Discharge in June of 1967. He continued his graduate studies at Pace University.

On September 4, 1976, he married his love, Linda Castrilla, who predeceased him on November 17, 2012.

Loren's career started with UPS in 1967 as an executive in the central N.Y. District and he worked there until his retirement in 1992.

Loren is survived by his twin brother, Lenard Smith of Nanuet, NY and his younger sister, Gail Euvino of Boca Raton, FL and Sag Harbor, NY. He is also predeceased by an older sister, Janet Connor and brother, Robert Smith, Jr.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Theresa Gail Labrozzi, Joseph William Labrozzi and Cheryl Labrozzi McMahon, all of Sag Harbor, NY; Christine Smith, Robert Mills Smith, Gina Smith Walz and Carmela Smith, all of NY; two great-nieces, Meagan Nicole McMahon and Roselyn Christine Williams; and a great-nephew, Daniel Joseph Labrozzi.

The visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, January 10 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, with a visitation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, PO Box 5028, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5028 or to St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
