Lou Deen Byron

April 6, 1925 — March 6, 2011

Sunday, March 6, 2011, Deen Byron went to be with the Lord in the peaceful setting of Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill. She was with her two daughters: S Darlene Allen and her husband Dr. Steven C Allen of West Columbia, SC and Sandra Bernard and her husband Lanny Bernard of Indian Land, SC. She was pre-deceased by her husband Rev. Melvin M. Byron, a recipient of the Purple Heart at Normandy during WWII. She leaves behind her precious family: 3 Grandchildren - Steven B. Allen, Dr. Chantelle Johnson (spouse Dr. Lance Johnson), and Kara Bernard; 3 Great-grandchildren - Marina Allen, Dane Allen, and Jaslyn Jordan. Funeral Services and visitation are at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home in Rock Hill. Visitation is Tuesday night from 6:30 to 8:30 PM and Wednesday from 2 to 4 PM. The Celebration of Life Service will be in the Chapel at Bass-Cauthen (adjacent to the Funeral Home) at 4 PM on Wednesday. Burial will be at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens immediately following the Celebration of Life Service. Reverend and Mrs. Byron pastored Full Gospel Assembly of God and Norton Avenue Assembly of God in the Mobile area. They served the Alabama District of the Assemblies of God for over 50 years.
