Louise Starnes "Mamie" Plyler

March 24, 1934 — March 1, 2012

Mrs. Louise Starnes Plyler, 77, of 1413 Woodhurst Drive, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. A native of Monroe, Mrs. Plyler was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Myrtle Boone Starnes. Born on March 24, 1934 she worked in customer service for Willamette Industries in Rock Hill for many years before retirement. She was also a devoted member of her church, Friendship United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Moser Plyler; one brother; one sister; and one great-grandchild, Jaden Dover. Surviving are daughters Cynthia Ashley (Jim) of Rock Hill, Susan Pinson (Wayne) also of Rock Hill and Gail Strong (Bill) of Chapin; one son Jimmy Plyler (Barbie) of Rock Hill; six grandchildren Chuck Collins and fiancé Katie Spears, Candace Stowe, Chase Pinson, Matthew Plyler (Nichole), Ashlee Pinson and Taylor Plyler; one great-grandchild Caleigh Dover; two sisters Hilda Fowler (Al) and Peggy Keziah both of Monroe; and many other loving family and friends. A service to celebrate Mrs. Plyler's life will be held Saturday at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Morris officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the hour of service at Bass-Cauthen Funeral home on Saturday, and at other times at Mrs. Plyler's home. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Park - S. Cherry Road. Memorials in honor of Mrs. Plyler may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, 1200 Neely Store Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730, to the Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Ste. L, Anderson, SC 29621, or to Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 993 Rock Hill, SC 29731. The family would also like to say a special "Thank You" to Mrs. Plyler's caregivers, Sheri Bivins and Melissa Thompson for their care during her time of need.
