Lucy (Drennan) Taylor

Mrs. Lucy Drennan Taylor, 93, of Morningside Assisted Living passed away Friday June 4, 2010. A native of Charlotte, NC Mrs. Taylor was born April 5, 1917 a daughter of the late Judson Hood and Jessie Wingate Drennan. She was retired from Rock Hill Hardware and Celanese Corporation, was a member of First ARP Church in Rock Hill, and a graduate of Winthrop College. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Garison Taylor, Sr. and a brother Robert Frances Drennan. Surviving are her son Richard G. Taylor, Jr., M.D. and his wife Janet Blaine Taylor of Greenville, SC; a brother Judson Hood Drennan, Jr. of Florence, SC; a sister Laura Drennan Williams of Rock Hill; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Taylor will be held Sunday at 4:00pm at First ARP Church with Dr. Barry Dagenhart officiating. A private family graveside will be held at 2:30pm Sunday at Laurelwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Richard G. and Lucy D. Taylor Scholarship Fund c/o Erskine College 2 Washington St. Due West, SC 29639. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the staff and personnel of both Morningside Assisted Living and Regency Hospice for their unwavering care and love for Lucy during her most critical time of need.
