Lynda Luann Johnston

Lynda "LuAnn" Johnston, 45, of Rock Hill passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. She was born in Charlotte, NC, the daughter of James Guy and Lynda Price Johnston. She graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1991 and attended The University of South Carolina at Lancaster. She was employed for many years by The Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center and the Speech and Hearing Center of Rock Hill. LuAnn was an avid animal-lover and a talented musician, playing piano for most of her 45 years. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Rock Hill, SC and had been a member of the Mary-Martha Circle of the United Methodist Women. For many years, she provided financial support to the ASPCA and sponsored a child through UNICEF. She loved riding horses and caring for stray animals, along with her own beloved pets. LuAnn is survived by her partner of 6 years, Roxanna "Rock" Stewart of Clover; her father, James "Guy" Johnston of Rock Hill; her sister, Johanna Johnston Sanders of Rock Hill; her brother, James Garrett "Gary" Johnston (Karen) of Columbia; three nieces, Sutherland Fosdick (Richard) and Audrey David (Reggie), both of Rock Hill and Katelyn Johnston of Columbia; one nephew, Garrett Johnston of Columbia; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; two aunts and an uncle; and several cousins, all of whom love and miss her dearly. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 1pm at Friendship United Methodist Church. A memorial service for LuAnn will follow at the same location at 2pm. The interment ceremony will be held after the memorial service at Grandview Memorial Park - Hollis Lakes, 401 Hollis Lakes Road, Rock Hill, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in LuAnn's memory to Humane Society of York County, 8177 Regent Parkway, Suite 103, Fort Mill, SC 29715 or to Friendship United Methodist Church, 1200 Neely Store Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
