Madeline Hagler

Mrs. Madeline R. Hagler, 87, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011 at her residence. A native of Chester, SC Mrs. Hagler was a daughter of the late Richard and Nanie Robinson. Born on August 17, 1923 she worked as a secretary for the Rock Hill School District for 17 years, and was a very active and devoted member of her church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by eight sisters and two brothers. Surviving are her loving husband A.G. Hagler; one son Andrew "Drew" Hagler and his wife Donna of York; one daughter Barbara Kaye Hagler of York; five grandchildren Todd Hagler of Rock Hill, Brooke Pittman and her husband Edward of Rock Hill, Andrew Wescott and his wife Emily of York, Daniel Teno and Josh Teno both of York, and Jason Waldrop and his wife Connie of Rock Hill; two great-grandchilden Brandi Hagler of Rock Hill, and Jaxon Waldrop of Rock Hill; and many loving nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hagler will be held Tuesday at 11:00am in Bethesda Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm in Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home on Monday. Memorials in honor of Mrs. Hagler may be made to the Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 4858 McConnells Hwy, York, SC 29745 or to Agape Hospice, 1317 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
