Maer Lopez

Maer Lopez, 82, died May 19,2021 with his family by his bedside at the Pineville Medical Center in Pineville, NC.

The memorial service is Saturday May 22, 2021 at Palmetto Funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM.

He was born August 4, 1938 in Cartago, Colombia. He lived in Colombia until 1972 and then he moved to Plainfield, New Jersey. In 2004 after retiring, he moved to Fort Mill, SC with his wife and family where he spent the remaining days of his life.

Maer loved to spend time with his grandchildren and family members. He loved riding his motorcycle and always had soccer on the television even while in the hospital. He was full of life, a strong person and very loved.

Maer is survived by his sister Amparo Lopez Cardona; his wife, Martha Lopez; 6 daughters, Gloria Dolly Cascante, Patricia Garcia, Lucelly Lopez, Adrienne Restrepo, Janeth Cardona, and Johanna Gutierrez; 7 granddaughters, 8 grandsons and 9 great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Aura Cecilia Lopez; son, Maer Lopez Jr, and daughter, Alexandra Lopez.
