Mamie Banister Galloway

Mamie Banister Galloway departed this life and arrived in her heavenly home Saturday, October 10, 2009. A native of Anderson County, SC, Mrs. Galloway was born November 12, 1932, a daughter of the late J.T. and Rossie Davis Banister. She was a life-long Christian, a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother and great grandmother, and a special friend to all who knew her. She was quick with a smile and always had time for a prayer for those in need. Mrs. Galloway was a member of Harvest Ministries and a retail store owner in Rock Hill and Laurens SC. She was preceded in death by three sisters Patricia Morris, Jennie Pait and Betty Robinson and a brother Carl Banister. Surviving are her husband William Eugene "Gene" Galloway, children Cheryl Cochrane of Rock Hill, Sandra Rivers of Columbia, Tom Galloway of Rock Hill and Tammy Munn and her husband Mark of Florence; brothers and sisters Edith Hughes and husband Bill of Greenwood, Aubrey Banister of Honea Path, Jo Ann Banister of Honea Path, Tommy Robinson and wife Ann of Honea Path; six grandchildren Jaime Karner, Ashleigh Asper, Jessica Rivers, Meghan Galloway, Hunter and Rayne Munn, three great grandchildren Harrison Cochrane, Kathryn and Annabelle Asper. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00pm Sunday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Galloway will be held Monday at 2:00pm at Harvest Ministries 1211 S. Anderson Road with Pastor-Bishop Gary Adkins and Bishop Ken Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.
