Margaret Covode

Margaret Ann Covode died October 26th, 2013, at the age of 72. She died peacefully at her home with her three daughters, Anna, Sally and Molly by her side. Margaret was born to remarkable parents, the late William and Eleanor Covode in San Antonio, Texas. Shortly after her father returned from WWII, the family moved with her brother, Bill Covode to Denver, Colorado where she spent her childhood. Margaret graduated from Colorado College in 1962, with a Bachelor of Arts-Philosophy and was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Theta, initiated 1960. Margaret's quest for knowledge and curiosity for life led her to her first Masters of Arts in Psychology in 1975 and her second Masters of Arts in Education-Psychology in1987. Shortly after she moved her family to Charlotte and began a fabulous career advocating for the youth of our community. Margaret retired from her Psychologist position within the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. Margaret is survived by her daughter Anna Stull and husband Christian Mussett and their daughters, Cyrena, Madeline Ann and Sylvia; her daughter Sally Bingham and her life partner Alexander Mayhew; and her daughter Molly and husband James Tobin and their daughter Morgan Elizabeth. So telling of Margaret's life, she was surrounded by her amazing colleagues at CMS Department of Psychology, where decades of service forged decades of friendship. She is loved dearly by her family, her friends and a day won't pass without reflection of her beautiful and giving life. Her daughters would like to personally thank Lynde RN, Ashley RN, and Ossie CNA, for helping to care for their mother in her last hours. Her time with Novant Hospice was short, but the love and understanding they provided was monumental during this mournful time. Additionally, the family would like to thank Terry Robertson of T.H. Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service for his attention to detail, his delicate nature and professionalism. A Celebration of Life Service will be arranged by T.H. Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service and held on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at 2:00 pm at the Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29708.
