Margaret Frances Summerlin

May 10, 1924 — June 18, 2012

Margaret Edwards Gladden Summerlin, 88, passed away Monday June 18, 2012 at Piedmont Medical Center. A native of Fort Lawn, Mrs. Summerlin was born May 10, 1924 daughter of the late Robert Lee Edwards, Sr. and Alma Jordan Edwards. She was retired from Rock Hill Printing and finishing after 40 years. Mrs. Summerlin was a member most of her life at Fort Lawn Baptist Church before moving to Rock Hill in 1975 and she then became a member of Woodhaven Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband's Ben F. Gladden and Paul Osco Summerlin. Surviving are two sons Wayne Gladden and his wife Emeline of Lawrenceville, GA, Jimmy Gladden and his wife Brenda of Fort Lawn; three grandchildren Heather Denton and her husband Sean, Brooke Currence and her husband Ronnie, LeAnne Gladden-Pate and her husband Kyle; one great grandchild Ethan Lucas Currence; also numerous nieces and nephews and one cousin. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 10:30am at Elmwood Cemetery in Fort Lawn followed by a memorial service at 11:00am at Fort Lawn Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the memorial service and also at the home of her son Jimmy 815 Lawndale Circle in Fort Lawn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fort Lawn Baptist Church, PO Box 250 Fort Lawn, SC 29714. The family would like to extend a Special Thank You to the Staff at White Oak Manor for their care of Mrs. Summerlin during her stay there.
