Margarida Noronha Reis

Edgemoor, SC - Mrs. Margarida Noronha Reis, 92, died Friday, February 19, 2016.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Rock Hill. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.

Mrs. Reis was a devoted and loving wife of 55 years to Artur Reis and mother of John Reis, mother in-law to Audrey Reis, and grandmother to Elijah, Dominic, Quentin and Tobias.

She loved her homeland of Azores Islands in Portugal and had fond memories of growing up there near the ocean steeped in old traditions. She enjoyed reading, drawing, sewing and singing Portuguese folk songs. She moved from Half Moon Bay, California to South Carolina to be close to her son and help raise her grandsons. Margarida loved to cook, especially seafood and make delicious Portuguese desserts. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family.
