Mrs. Marian Polk Beckham, 84, of 926 Blakely Walk, died Tuesday April 30, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilmore Beckham on March 29, 2013. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 3pm at Grand View Memorial Park, 620 Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC with the Rev. Debra Quilling Smith and Rev. Rett Haselden officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside. A native of York County, Mrs. Beckham was the daughter of the late Janie Campbell Polk and the late Frank Young Polk. Mrs. Beckham was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church for 66 years where she belonged to Circle Number 6. She was a graduate of Rock Hill High School, Class of 1945. Mrs. Beckham, a retiree of Bank of America, formerly NationsBank, began her banking career at the original People's National Bank. She had 47 years of active service. In 1959, she was chosen Miss Drive-In Teller of the U.S. in a nationwide contest sponsored by Mosler Safe Company. Survivors include sisters Betty Bates, Ann Bomar and Linda Grimes; nephews Charles Dalton Miller Jr, George Haile, James Haile andRay Misskelly; nieces Brenda Greene, Lori Fuqua, Kimberly Messick, Lisa Flynn, Allison Brandt, Susan Hensley, Michelle Gilbert, Rhonda Moore, Della Jones and Sandra Brassington.
