Rock Hill - Mr. Marcus "Mark" Charles Emory, 56, of 4395 Boatshore Road, died Thursday, August 29, 2013, at his home.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at the Bethel Baptist Church, 6031 Hands Mill Highway, with Rev. Harry Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the church.
Born in Wilmington, N.C., Mark is the son of Charles Emory and Betty Megard. Mark was very active in Scouting and was elected patrol leader in his troop. He earned enough merit badges to achieve the rank of Life Scout. He was also the recipient of the God and Country Award and the Order of the Arrow. Mark was an avid swimmer and outstanding football player in high school. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He was proud of his "Hole In One" trophy. Truly a very gifted and talented individual. He also served in the U.S. Airforce during the Vietnam Era, receiving and Honorable Discharge.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Emory; his father, Charles and Zell Emory, his mother, Betty Megard; three sons, Steven Emory, Lee Lowder, and Jamie Wagoner (Teresa); two daughters, Christie Kazimer (Pat)and Michelle Ratliff (Jesse); his mother-in-law, Louise Sheppard; one brother, Eric Emory; one sister, Teri Couchenour (Scott); and 10 grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Steven Wayne Emory.
Memorials may be sent to the Hospice of one's choice.
