Martha Lucy Abbott

Martha Lucy Lewis Abbott, 75, of 228 Pointe Circle, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at her residence. A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Abbott was born September 14, 1933 a daughter of the late Roy Alexander and Jessie Caldwell Lewis. She was a retired nurse having graduated from Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, a member of Greenbriar United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband Charles Lindbergh Abbott. Surviving are her children Beverly Montgomery of Rock Hill, Charlene Self of Rock Hill, Charles Lewis Abbott of Elgin SC, and Karen Tripp of Rock Hill; one sister Jessie Lewis of Charleston; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00am Saturday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Abbott will be held Saturday at 11:00am at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.
