Martha Hunt

Mrs. Martha W Hunt of Tega Cay South Carolina died on March 10, 2013, at home with her family by her side. Martha was born July 25, 1930 in Memphis Tennessee, the daughter of Charlie and Eula Whitehead. She also had two older sisters, Mary Elizabeth Watts and Lorena Mae Creeden In 1952, Martha married the love of her life Lewis Dixon Hunt. They resided in Memphis while Martha worked as a lab technician to put Lewis through college to complete his electrical engineering degree. Upon Lewis's graduation, Martha became a full time mother and homemaker. In addition to raising their three children, Martha also volunteered for the PTA, served as social director for her husband's many work functions, was a realtor, friend to all who knew her and the un-official dancing queen of Tega Cay. She loved to sew, visit her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spend time with her dear friends "the Palmyra group" from Tega Cay Martha is survived by her husband Lewis, cousin and "like a sister" Ginger Wayne, three children Kenneth Hunt, Janice Griffin and Charlie Hunt, grandchildren Amy Baker , Ashley Lowder , Mattie Griffin, Davis Griffin, great grandchildren Dylan and Gracie Lowder, Austin and Addy Baker , and a number of other relatives and close friends who loved her. A "Celebration of her life" memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday March 14, 2013 at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29707.
