Marvin Henry Geisler, Retired Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps.

On the evening of October 22nd, 2024, Marvin passed away peacefully at the age of 85. Marvin Geisler was born in the town of Willow Springs, Missouri on March, 7th, 1939 to Winifred McCart.

Marvin will be remembered as a kind, considerate person who always had time to listen to those in need or lend a helping hand. A faithful servant of our Lord and Savior, he was baptized in a creek in his hometown and remained a faithful member of the Lutheran Church throughout his life. Sgt Major made a lasting impact on a number of United States Marine Corps Junior ROTC cadets at South Iredell High School, where he was an instructor, teacher, and bus driver.

He is preceded in death by his mother Winifred McCart and his loving wife Betty Geisler.

Marvin leaves behind his brothers: Jerry, Richard, and Melvin Geisler. His children: Kim (Tim) Engel, Scott (Dawn) Geisler, Gina (Steven) Mitchell, Steven Geisler, and James (Lorie) Geisler. His grandchildren: Katie (Jake), Jacob, Brandon (Kristen), Logan (Sarah), Peyton (Madison), Hannah (Shane), James, Kaitlin, Savanna, Jalen, and Jackson, along with great-grandchildren Bailey and Eva.

Please come celebrate and honor the life of Sergeant Major Marvin Geisler with us at South Iredell High School Performing Arts Center, 299 Old Mountain Rd, Statesville, NC. The service will take place on Sunday, November 17th at 2 o’clock.

In lieu of flowers please make or bring a donation to Toys for Tots.

As all Marines do when they pass, Marvin too will take up Post at Heaven's Gates. Semper Fi.
