Mary Jane Hansen

Mary Jane McBirney Hansen, 83, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, formerly of North Olmsted, Ohio passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020.

Mary was born on July 17, 1937 in Mullaghduff, County Armagh, Northern Ireland to the late James and Mary McBirney. Her study of nursing brought her to the Cleveland, Ohio area where she met her late husband Richard Hansen. She was a registered nurse and worked for 40 years at the Cleveland Clinic. Mary was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Fairview Park, Ohio where she served on the Alter Guild and taught Sunday School. She was a loving wife and mother who gave selflessly to her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard B. Hansen.

Those left to cherish her memory include Richard-James Hansen and wife Beth, Michelle Hairston, Donald Hansen, Taylor Hansen, Alexis Hairston, Trevor, Jonathan, Savannah, Evangeline Hansen; siblings, Jim and Florence McBirney, Evelyn Lowe, Tillie and William John Kennedy, Winifred and Albert Jordan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
