Mary Frances Nichols Harper

Mrs. Mary Frances Nichols Harper, 65, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 at CMC - Mercy. A native of York, Frances was a daughter of the late James Dever and Eunice S. Nichols. Born February 19, 1947 she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Frances valued family, gardening, and cooking. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers J.D. Nichols and Marshall Nichols; and two sisters Jeanette Green and Mildred Ledford. Surviving are her loving husband Dennis Keith Harper, Sr.; two sons Dennis Keith "Kenny" Harper, Jr. (Wendy) and Bobby B. Harper both of York; three daughters Tammy Adams of Clover, Vanessa L. Stephens (Keith) of York, Joanna K. Powell (Jerry) of York; two sisters Lois Nichols and Betty Erwin both of Clover; two brothers Donald "Pete" Nichols and Jerry Nichols both of Clover; and her cherished thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Frances's life will be held Monday at 3:00pm at Calvary Baptist Church with Revs. Tony Slawson and Phil Lemmons officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00-7:30pm at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery in York. Memorials in honor of Frances may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, PO Box 11650, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
