Mary Massey

Mary Massey, 90, of Pineville, NC, formerly of Garland, TX, passed peacefully to Heaven on Saturday, March 21, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 12, 1930 in Collinsville, MS, daughter of the late William Elbert and Izola Chenault Parker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers and her beloved son, Lester B. (Buck) Massey, Jr.

A kind, friendly person, Mary enjoyed spending her time playing cards, Bingo, Bible Study and exercise classes. Always thinking of others, she helped organize an extension of Volunteers & Helping Hands school supply drive for residents of The Dorchester.

Most important to her was her family. She will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother (Nana), great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her daughter, Anne French and husband, Jim of Indian Land, SC; grandson, Rick Foor, Jr. and wife, Buffy of Fort Mill, SC; granddaughter Dr. Rebecca Calhoun and husband, Kristopher of Parkton, NC; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Rick III, Parker, Andrew, Katie and Ella that were a precious part of her life.

In light of COVID-19 and the restrictions on gatherings, services for Mary will be held at a later date and those times will be announced when arrangements have been finalized.
