Mary Ellen Orr Miller

Mary Ellen Orr Miller, 80, of Edgemoor, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Charlotte, NC. She was born February 28, 1938 in Monroe, NC, daughter of the late Byron James and Lula Long Orr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Rudolph Orr, Newton Orr and Bryon Orr, Jr and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Temple and Mildred Courtney. She was an active member at Harmony Baptist Church and was a great cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 60 years, Gary Thomas Miller of Edgemoor; sons, Gary D Miller and wife, Maggie and James L. Miller and wife, Lisa, all of Edgemoor; two grandchildren, Mary Ruth Miller of Winston-Salem and Jimmy Miller of Rock Hill; one great-grandson, Preston Miller; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, June 1, 2018 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home in Rock Hill. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
